About Me

Hi, I'm Dejana Cubrilovic, a Wollongong photographer specialising in newborn, maternity, family, christening, engagement and wedding photography across the Illawarra and South Coast of NSW. My work is all about creating images that feel authentic, timeless, and deeply connected to the people I photograph.

I have been married to my husband, Stefan, for 17 years, and together we are raising two beautiful daughters. Family is at the heart of everything I do, which is why I am so passionate about preserving genuine moments and meaningful stories.

Creativity has always been a part of my life. From a young age, art was my way of expressing the world around me, and photography became the medium where everything truly came alive. That love led me to formal studies, ongoing workshops, and a dedication to continually refining my craft.

At 18, I worked at Kodak processing film in the main lab, the very place rolls of film would go after being dropped off at the chemist. That experience ignited a lasting fascination with film, and I still sometimes shoot it as a personal passion, drawn to its simplicity, rawness, and the subtle imperfections that give each frame its character.

My approach to photography is centred on connection, individuality, and storytelling. I strive to create a calm, natural atmosphere where people can relax and be themselves, allowing the quiet, unscripted moments to emerge.

My style is warm, gentle and romantic. I love shooting in natural light. The way the light can soften or deepen and completely change the feeling of an image. It becomes part of the storytelling. 

I am incredibly proud that my work has been featured on Polka Dot Wedding, and gallery lane magazine, a recognition that continues to inspire me to create heartfelt, enduring imagery.
